Troyce Ann Stone Nash

August 7, 1953 — June 19, 2025

Ms. Troyce Ann Stone Nash, age 71, formerly of Dalton, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, June 19, 2025.

Troyce was born in Dalton, Georgia, on Friday, August 7, 1953, to the late Mr. Troy Lee Stone and Mrs. Frances Jewel Howell Stone.

Troyce was retired from the City of Dalton Police Department after over twenty years of faithful and dedicated service as a Supervisor in the Department's Administrative Division.

Troyce was a caregiver all of her life. She cared for babies, troubled teens, her own parents, and of course, all animals. The kitchen was her sanctuary, where she loved to cook and bake some of the best desserts, all from scratch. She had a deep-seated belief that no one should ever go hungry, and she made it her mission to ensure that everyone was well fed. She taught us the value of hard work, perseverance, and finding joy in the little things. She loved to dance and be surrounded by her family. She was a strong woman who was loyal and honest. Her memory will forever live in our hearts and minds and she will be missed tremendously.

In addition to her parents, Troyce is preceded in death by her aunt, Ruby Thorne, as well as Ruby's husband, Ed Thorne.

Troyce is survived by her son, Stephen (Crystal) Hammontree, her daughter, Julie (John) Osterland, and her son Jeremy (Sarah) Madden. She is also survived by her stepsons, Christopher Nash and Paul Nash.

She is also survived by her grandchildren: Brett (Leann), Brock (Courtney), Brayden, Brooklin, Brenna, Alexis, Emma, Taylor, Nina, Sadie, and Eli; step-grandchildren, Draven, Kahra, and Chase. She is also survived by her four great-grandchildren.

Troyce is also survived by her sister, Janice Sherrill, and her brother, Kim (Robbie) Stone.

Funeral services to honor and celebrate Troyce's life will be conducted on Saturday, June 28, at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home with Reverend Jim Burgess officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her parents at West Hill Cemetery.

Her family will receive friends for visitation before the service beginning at 11:00 A.M.
