It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Terrell Eugene Willis (Terry), age 84, of Dalton, Georgia on July 22, 2023. He was surrounded by family as he peacefully passed, following a short hospitalization. Terry was born to John T. And Mary P. Willis on September 9, 1938 in Jesup, Georgia. He played basketball in high school, college, and while in the Marines around the Pacific. He graduated from the University of Georgia with both a bachelor’s and law degree. He practiced private and corporate law in Marietta, Georgia for 35 years, retiring from Lockheed – Martin in 2005. Terry is survived by his wife, Frankie Masters Willis, and three children, Mary K. Burns (David), Matt Willis, and Nan Merrow (Carl), as well as his grand children, Will Edwards Jr., Parker and Brant Willis, and Cora and Nate Merrow. He was affectionately known as “Grumps“ and “Nuh“ by his grandchildren. Terry was an avid reader and enjoyed cooking in his retirement years. He enjoyed traveling around the country with close friends, as well as to baseball spring training with hometown friends. Terry‘s family will host a memorial service at Grace Presbyterian Church in Dalton, Georgia on August 5, 2023, at 1:00 PM visitation will follow until 4:00 PM.
