Scott G. Young

Scott G. Young, 70, of Dalton passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2026.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Glen Young and Donna Young and his grandmother, Doris Smith.

Scott was a Veteran of the United States Navy.

He is survived by his sons, Brogan Young and Bryce Young; sister, Terri Simons (Bill); brother, Craig Young; ex-wife Brenda Young

Scott was a family man. He loved reading, which he passed on to his children. He loved taking time to go pick out Christmas tree each year, especially with his family. Scott was a mechanic for most of his life, and was exceptionally skilled at working and fixing things around the house. Everything he did, he did for his family. In life, he brought an enthusiasm and joy along with him, along with a laugh that could light up a room. His love and passion was evident to those around him, and this brought many people to him. Stubborn, unafraid to speak his mind, and intense, these traits did not deter those close to him; instead, they helped to make the amazing man he was, the father that we still love to this day.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Saturday, August 1, 2026, from 2 until 5 PM at Love Funeral Home.
