Robin Vining Thompson, 70, of Dalton, Georgia, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family. Born in Dalton to Charles Vining Jr. and Star Vining, Robin’s life was marked by strength, compassion, intelligence, wit, sarcasm and love.
She is survived by her children, Jason (Sara) Phillips and Kyle (Darrell) Hughes; grandchildren Zeke and Rhett Phillips, Harrison, Zach, and Hayden Hughes and Hailey (Brandon) Munn and their four children. She also leaves behind her brother Milton (Carolyn) Roberts, nephew Derek and his family and niece Meshia and her family; brother-in-law Lawrence Cole; niece Cali Cole (Olin) Zmarzly sons Lynx and Arlo, and nephew Caz (Andrea) Cole.
Robin was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Chris Vining Cole, and her husband Don Thompson.
She attended North Whitfield High School and Dalton College. Robin built a career as a graphic designer, manager, vice president, entrepreneur, and business owner. She loved traveling, reading, writing, and caring for animals.
To her family, she was an anchor, steady, dependable, and grounding, holding them firm with love through every season of life.
Per her wishes, no memorial service will be held. In lieu of flowers, she would have wanted us to help the Fancy Lad Farms and Wildlife Sanctuary.
