Robert Evans Shaw, Jr.

Robert Evans Shaw Jr., affectionately known as Bob Jr., a lifelong resident of Dalton, Georgia, went to live with his Lord on August 21, 2026, at the age of 66.

Born in Dalton on September 28, 1959, Bob Jr. was the son of Robert Evans “Bob” Shaw Sr. and Anna Sue Shaw. He was a private and gentle person who valued his family, his friendships, and the quieter things in life. He loved cars and animals, enjoyed the peace of spending time on his property, and shared his mother’s wonderful sense of humor.

Above all, Bob Jr. was a father. His son, Owen Lee Shaw, was a source of tremendous pride and love throughout his life. They shared a bond that was uniquely their own, and Owen held a very special place in his father’s heart.

Bob Jr. was preceded in death by his mother, Anna Sue Shaw, and his brother, Lewis Clayton Shaw.

He is survived by his son, Owen Lee Shaw; his father, Robert Evans “Bob” Shaw Sr. (Dottie); his sister, Susan Shaw Young (Bill); his brother, Thomas “Tripp” Shaw (Lisa); and his nieces and nephews, Anna Young Adamson (Zack), Joseph Henry Young (Molly), William Shaw Young (Mary Helen), Virginia Lee Shaw, and Thomas Tripp Shaw Jr. (Erin).

The family is especially grateful for Jackie Ketchem, Bob Jr.’s devoted friend, for the tremendous care and friendship she gave to Bob Jr., Owen, and the entire family.

A private funeral service will be held at ChristChurch Presbyterian in Dalton, with Reverend Eric Geil and Bill Dudley officiating.

A celebration of Bob Jr.’s life will be held at a later date.
