Robert 'Robbie' Craig

Mr. Robert Edward Craig, Jr., known throughout his life to everyone as 'Robbie,' passed away unexpectedly on the evening of Monday, April 6, 2026.

Robbie was born on Wednesday, May 5, 1965, in Dalton, Georgia, to the late Mr. Robert Edward ‘Bobby’ Craig, Sr., and the late Mrs. Patricia Ann Morgan ‘Pat’ Craig.

Robbie Craig was truly one of a kind. To know him was to love him, and there will never be another quite like him. He loved his family fiercely and took great pride in being a devoted husband and father, all roles he carried with strength, loyalty, and unwavering dedication.

Robbie adored his wife, Tonya, beyond measure. Time and time again, people would share how often he spoke of her, how deeply he loved her, how pure his love was, and how he never missed the chance to express his love for her.

He was an incredibly dedicated father. While his children, Morgan and Presley, were growing up, Robbie provided a steady, present, and supportive presence. He believed in raising them with strength and accountability, often showing tough love, but always with a deep and unwavering foundation of care. He spoke often of how proud he was of them and the adults they had become.

When he married Tonya, he also embraced his wife’s two children, Lexi and Brody, becoming a constant and influential presence in their lives as well. He showed up for them and supported them throughout the years.

Through years of hard work and determination, Robbie built his business from the ground up, creating something he was deeply proud of. His talent, passion, and unwavering commitment made him truly remarkable. He was a true master of his craft and took pride in doing things the right way, and better than anyone else. His talent and work ethic were unmatched, and he never hesitated to share his knowledge with others. Around Robbie, you always knew exactly where you stood. One of Robbie's favorite quotes was he “ain’t going to sugar coat it,” and that honesty made him even more loved.

Robbie was a man of routine, a true creature of habit. He found joy in life’s simple pleasures from his favorite snacks and sweets, his motorcycles, time spent at the lake, days filled with boating, water skiing, and snow skiing. He had a passion for the things he loved, including his guns, knives, and of course his flashlights. He also had an incredible soft spot for his animals.

Most know that red was his favorite color, and we often would hear "if it ain’t red, paint it". He showed pride in literally everything he did even down to keeping his vehicles (which were red) spotless.

Robbie had a way of making an impression that lasted. He was the “knower of all things,” the one who could do just about anything and honestly, did it better than most. He was strong-willed and always willing to take care of those he loved. Anyone who knew him knew his presence was larger than life, and his absence will be felt just as deeply.

There will never be another like him. He was, and always will be, a legend, the one and only Robbie Craig.

In addition to his parents, Bobby and Pat, Robbie is preceded in death by his twin sister, Bobbie Ann Zettle, as well as his grandparents, Harold and Catherine Morgan, and Homer and Mary Craig.

Robbie is survived by his wife, Tonya Starks Craig; his son, Morgan Craig, and his daughter, Presley Craig; his stepdaughter, Lexi Smith, and his stepson, Petty Officer Brody Smith.

Robbie is further survived by his sisters, Tammy (Randy Beckler) Capel and Cathy (Joe) Craton; his niece and nephew, Katie Capel and Craig Capel; his grandson, Campbell Robert Craig, lovingly known as ‘Soup’ (son of Morgan); mother of his children, Leslie Craig; and his aunt, Sue Morgan.

Services to honor and celebrate Robbie's life will be conducted on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at 1:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home. His family will lay him to rest in a private graveside service in Whitfield Memorial Gardens.

Jack Lindsay, Keith Bonnell, Paul Baker, Mitch Morrison, Greg Renz, Mike Bell, Billy Lewis, Bryan Walker, and Mitch Mitchell will serve as pallbearers for Robbie.

Robbie's family will receive friends for visitation at Love Funeral Home on Saturday, April 11, from 10:00 A.M. until the service hour.
