Patsy Ann Bartenfeld

Mrs. Patsy Ann Bartenfeld, age 86, of Dalton, Georgia, passed away peacefully at her residence on Saturday, May 3, 2025.

She was born in Dalton, Georgia, on Thursday, October 27, 1938, to the late Mr. Leonard and Mrs. Lois McGinnis Parker.

Patsy dedicated her life to education and service, working as a paraprofessional for 35 years at Dug Gap Elementary School until her retirement.  Her passion for teaching and service to children continued after her retirement, as she lovingly worked with the kindergarteners at Dalton First Baptist Church, nurturing young minds with patience and grace.  As an avid reader, Patsy instilled a lifelong love of books and learning in her children, her grandchildren, and her students.  She leaves behind an indelible mark on all who had the blessing of knowing her, whether they called her wife, mother, aunt, Nana, friend, or Miss Pat.  Her legacy lives on in the hearts of those she inspired, taught, and loved so deeply.

In addition to her parents, Patsy is preceded in death by her son, Michael E. Bartenfeld, Sr., and her daughter-in-law, Leslie Casten Bartenfeld.

Patsy is survived by her loving husband, Mr. Eugene M. Bartenfeld, Jr., whom she married on Saturday, September 20, 1958, and with whom she spent nearly 67 wonderful and loving years.

She is also survived by her daughter, Beth Martin; her grandchildren, Michael C. Bartenfeld, Jr., Nicholas S. (Emily) Martin, and Emily Bartenfeld; and her great-grandchildren, Braxton and Payton Elizabeth Martin (children of Nicholas and Emily).

Per Patsy's wishes that she expressed during her lifetime, no public services will be held. A private burial service for her immediate family will be conducted at a later date.
