Martha Ann Poteet

Martha Ann Poteet, 87, of Dalton passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2026.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest R. Poteet and daughter, Debra Lynn Poteet.

Martha had a servant’s heart, always placing the needs of those around her before her own. Her life was a testament to deep compassion, and steadfast commitment to her family. Nothing brought her greater joy than caring for the people she loved.

Her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. Martha is survived by her children, Brent Poteet (Cindy) and Lori Brown (Brent); grandchildren, Haley Barrett, Spencer Brown, Holly Grace Brown, Lance Poteet and Kelsey Sharpe; 12 great-grandchildren; siblings, Jean Arrington and Vinson Smith.

A graveside service will be held at 11 AM on Friday at Dug Gap Baptist Church Cemetery.
