Marcela Soto

Marcela Soto, 35, of Ringgold, Georgia, formerly of Atlantic City, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2025, at Hamilton Medical Center in Dalton, Georgia, after a courageous three-year battle with mesenchymal chondrosarcoma, a rare and aggressive cancer. She fought with a strength and spirit that inspired everyone around her.

Born in Somers Point, New Jersey, Marcela was a proud graduate of Atlantic City High School. She went on to serve her country with dedication as a TSA agent for Homeland Security in Chattanooga, Tennessee. In both her career and her life, Marcela was known for her resilience, integrity, and deep care for others.

Marcela was the ultimate daughter, sister, friend, and most proudly, “Titi” to her beloved nieces. Her role as aunt brought her immense joy and purpose. Whether spending time with family, catching the latest Marvel movie, or simply being present for those she loved, Marcela’s warmth and laughter left an imprint on everyone she met. Her bravery, kindness, and unwavering love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her loving mother, Maria Soto. She is survived by her devoted father, Luis Soto; her cherished sister, Alejandra Staubs; brother-in-law, Chuck Staubs; and her adored nieces, Penelope and Charlotte Staubs. Marcela also leaves behind many dear friends whose lives were made brighter by her love and friendship.

A visitation will be held on Monday, May 12, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Love Funeral Home in Dalton, Georgia. A Mass will follow at 1:00 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Dalton.

Marcela’s life was a testament to courage, loyalty, and love. Though she will be deeply missed, her spirit will remain forever with those who were blessed to know her.
