Linda Haynes, 83, of Dalton, passed away on Monday, June 8, 2026.
Born June 20, 1942, she is preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Elsie Broadrick and her husband of 30 years, Clyde Allen Haynes. Her life companion of 30 years (James “Jimmy” Hartness, Sr.) passed away just last year.
She is survived by her daughter, Kim (Bobby) Sneed and son, Jeremiah (Robin) Haynes and grand-daughter, Rachael (Greg) Childers.
She is also survived by her sisters, Wanda Black, Neda Jones, Becky (Jake) Black, Elise (Steve) Smith, Cleo Utz and her brother, George (Lydia) Broadrick along with various nieces and nephews.
Linda loved old cars and traveling to various shows and rod runs. Her favorites were the Frog Follies in Evansville, IN. and the Turkey Run in Daytona, FL. She was a hard worker and often spoke of helping her father with his bed spread business. She spent many years bookkeeping and billing and didn’t retire until she was in her 70’s.
Linda was born again by faith in her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, and she loved the old hymns. In her final years she suffered from Alzheimer's/Dementia, but it never stopped her from remembering scripture and singing “What a Day That Will Be” and so it is, because now she is in Heaven.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to all the caregivers of Dalton Square and Amedisys Hospice as they cared for Linda.
Funeral Services will be held at 3 PM on Sunday in the chapel of Love Funeral Home with Dr. Bobby Sneed officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:30 until 3 PM. Linda will be laid to rest in New Hope Cemetery.
