Larry Paul Fossett

February 8, 1943 — September 9, 2025

Our fun, loving, dad, Larry Paul Fossett, 82, of Dalton, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, September 9th, 2025. He was the son of the late DeEtte Beatrice Fossett and Clay Fossett and was preceded in death by his brothers, Tommy Joe and Garnell Fossett, sister, Carolyn Yeager, and son-in-law Chip Hall. He is survived by sister Patsy Shahan of Lafayette, his daughters Stephanie (Brad) Spieth and Kim Hall of Atlanta, grandchildren Colton Spieth, Carli Spieth, Hannah Hall, and Samantha Hall.

Our crazy and fun-loving dad was born and raised in Dalton, Georgia on February 8, 1943. He was the youngest of five close siblings, Tommy Joe, Patsy, Garnell and Carolyn. Saying he loved his family is an understatement and would do anything for them. He met the mother of his two children, who is also a native of Dalton, then moved to Atlanta, where he started his own business, Fossett Door Company. Larry loved to have a good time, was very athletic, enjoyed all sports, was an avid golfer, and loved his Ga Bulldogs! He loved soulful, folk, southern rock ‘n’ roll and blues music. Every year, he would travel to the Appalachian Trail to meet his mountain buddies, camp out, listen to music, play his dulcimer, sip some mountain nectar, and tell tall stories by the fire. More than anything, he loved his two peas in a pod, his two grits, Stephanie and Kim and and was so proud of his grandchildren.

We love you Dad!
