Jerry Melvin Cox

Jerry Melvin Cox, 81, of Dalton passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2022.

He was the son of the late Albert and Hazel Cox and was also preceded in death by his siblings, Helen, Charlie “Bill”, Albert, Bobby and Tommy.

Jerry served in the U.S. Air Force and retired from Whitfield County Public Works, Road Department. He volunteered for the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 58 years, Lorene Cox; sister, Arnold; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Howard and Pauline Ridley, Helen Cox, Betty and Lane Ritchey, June and Troy Parker and George Ridley Jr.; like a son, Gary and Amy Fowler; God daughter, Nikki Fowler; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 4 PM on Tuesday in the chapel of Love Funeral Home. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2 until 4 PM. Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery.
