Janet Savells Estes

Mrs. Janet Savells Estes, age 94, of Dalton, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at The Gardens at Royal Oaks.

Janet was born on Monday, June 29, 1931, in New York City, New York.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, Robert Kelly Estes, and her daughter, Leslie Barker of Winston Salem, North Carolina.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Allen Davis of Wilmington, Delaware, and her son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Nancy Estes of Dalton, Georgia.

Janet is further survived by her grandchildren: Jennifer (Paul) Dunham, Lisa (Barry Engle) Davis, Aaron Barker, Andrew Estes, and Will (Rianne) Estes; her great-grandchildren, Connor Dunham, Ally Dunham, Lathan Barker, Dillon Barker, Tristan Engle, and Emery Estes.

Janet's family would like to express their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to all of the caregivers and staff at The Gardens at Royal Oaks for the exceptionally gracious care they showed Janet.

A Memorial Service to celebrate Janet's life will be conducted on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel at Dalton First Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Jonathan Barlow officiating.  The family will receive friends for visitation prior to the service beginning at 12:00 noon in the Church Atrium.
