Mrs. Jane Clark, 83, of Dalton, GA, went home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, leaving behind a legacy filled with love, faith, and selfless service.
Jane was born April 26, 1943, in Athens, TN to T.J. and Jewell Burton. She attended Emory University, graduating in 1965. At Emory, she met the love of her life, Charlie Clark, joined in marriage on June 24, 1967. Jane was initially an Army Spouse for their first four years, then once Charlie was discharged from the Army, they moved to Dalton to raise a family. Most importantly, she was Mom; not just to her boys, but to all their friends as well: Car Pool Mom, Cub Scout Den Mom, and other “Mom” rolls. Jane was an active member of Dalton First United Methodist Church, serving in several church and local ministries. She taught kindergarten, and later worked as an administrative assistant at Dalton College’s Continuing Education department. Jane and Charlie formed lifelong friendships with their Sunday School class, originally called ‘Room 222’, who looked out for each other, and care for each other to this day. Jane loved Jesus, her family, her church, and her community.
Jane was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Charlie Clark. She is survived by her sons David (Toni) and Ben; grandchildren Emily, Truman (Katie Brooke), and Jenna; and great grandson Rhodes.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations be made to Dalton First United Methodist Church.
Jane’s life was a testimony of faith, and while she will be deeply missed, her family rejoices in the promise of eternal life and the hope of reunion in Christ.
