Gary Richard Hackney

Mr. Gary Richard Hackney, 80, of Dalton, passed away peacefully in his sleep on the morning of July 6 ^th , 2021. He had been employed by Dorsett Industries for more than 40 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon (Dick) and Virginia (Ginger) Hackney; brothers, Bradley Hackney and Kenneth Hackney; his first wife, Joyce Wells Hackney, and his second wife, Rebecca Brown Hackney.

He is survived by his children, Laura (Mark) Knox and Russell Hackney; grandchildren, Corbin (Ally), Brett, and Carson Cleary, and Emma Hackney; great-grandchildren, Colston and Grayson Cleary; sisters, Gina (David) Chester of Marietta, Donna Moglenicki of Woodstock, Deborah Long of Gallatin, TN, and Diane (Richard) Cook of Whitwell, TN.; special friends, Tammy Baker, Ellen Gallman, Bruce Kimber, and David Stewart.  Many nieces and nephews also survive.

A graveside service will be held for Mr. Hackney on Saturday, July 10, 2021, at 4:00 p.m. at West Hill Cemetery in Dalton. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for visitation on Friday, July 9, 2021, from 5:00-8:00 p.m.
