Denny Franklin Smith

Mr. Denny Franklin Smith, age 56, of Dalton, Georgia, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, March 30, 2025.

He was born on Friday, July 5, 1968, in Dalton, Georgia, to the late Mr. Everett Smith and Mrs. Imogene Gazaway Smith.

While Denny’s family mourns his loss, they are grateful for his life that he lived, and they celebrate the profound impact that he had on his family, his church community, and all those who knew and loved him. He leaves behind cherished memories of his infectious smile, his unwavering faith, his Georgia Bulldog spirit, and his loving nature. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all who were touched by his special presence.

In addition to his parents, Denny is preceded in death by his sister, Wanda Gray, and his brother, Darrell Smith.

He is survived by his sisters Arreatha Gazaway and Kay (David) Hedden, as well as his special nephew, Adam (Ashley) West, and their children, Skyy, Savannah, Bryson, Bradley, Karli, and Bentley; his special great-great-nephew, Noah; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. He is also survived by his loving Danny Boy.

A funeral service to celebrate Denny’s life will be held on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at 3:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Reverend Hershel Pierce officiating. Denny will be laid to rest with his parents at West Hill Cemetery following the service.

Friends, family, and loved ones are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home from 1:00 P.M. until the service hour.
