Mrs. Colleen Cox McClain, age 93, of Dalton, Georgia, passed away peacefully at her residence on Wednesday, September 24, 2025.

She was born on Thursday, September 1, 1932, in Dalton, Georgia, to the late Hershel and Myrtle Cox.

She was a 1949 graduate of Dalton High School and was employed with the Lee Printing Company for many years.  In 1978, she relocated to Pikeville, Kentucky, with her family to open a floorcovering store, then returned to Dalton in 1989.  She was a member of Salem Baptist Church and Bill Walker’s Sunday School class.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Robert (Bob) McClain; son, Steve McClain; brother, John A. Cox; and sister, Catherine (Trammell) Campbell, all of Dalton, GA.

She is survived by her son, Kevin (Angela) McClain of Pikeville, Kentucky; daughter, Dayna Smith (fiancé, Michael Mayer) of Dalton, Georgia; grandchildren, Matt (Savanna) McClain of Dalton, Georgia; Brittany McClain (Dolly Tucker) of Dalton, Georgia; Shane (Yolanda) Smith of Dalton, Georgia; Mandi (Ty) Williams of Rocky Face, Georgia; John Kalen McClain and Casey McClain of Pikeville, Kentucky; great-grandchildren, Hannah Brown of Chickamauga, Georgia; Hailey Hilburn of Calhoun, Georgia; Sierra (Chase) Hasty of Rocky Face, Georgia; Analee Williams of Rocky Face, Georgia; great-great-grandchildren, Eli Brown of Chickamauga, Georgia; Leo Muder and Kai Muder of Calhoun, Georgia; Maverick Hasty of Rocky Face, Georgia; brother-in-law, Leland (Jane) McClain of Tunnel Hill; sister-in-law, Shirley Payne of Dallas, Georgia, as well as many special nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend special thanks and gratitude to caregiver Debbie Wilson, as well as the staff at Ross Woods and Heartlite Hospice.

Services to honor and celebrate the life of Mrs. Colleen Cox McClain will be conducted on Sunday, September 28, 2025, at 4:00 P.M. in the chapel of Love Funeral Home with Rev. Darey Kittle officiating. Colleen will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband in West Hill Cemetery.

Friends are cordially invited to visit with the family on Sunday from 1:00 P.M. until the service hour.
