Clyde Alvis Callahan

Clyde Alvis Callahan, 86, of Dalton passed away at Hamilton Medical Center on Tuesday, August 31, 2021.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joey Callahan; parents, Corrie and Claude Callahan; brothers, Harry Lloyd and Luther Callahan; sister, Louise Denston.

Clyde was a member of the Navy Reserves and worked with the Dalton Police Department and the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office.

He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Henry Smith and Robin and Jess Staton; son and daughter-in-law, Dean and Pam Callahan; grandchildren, Brandy and Chris Swilling, Tracy and Greg Metcalf, Jan and Ricky Mashburn, Nicole and Scott Beard, and Zach Callahan; great-grandchildren, Shelby Crank, Anna Kate and Trevor Beard, Emilie Smith, and Megan Swilling; special family friend, Jolane Mitchell.

The family would like to thank the Quinton nursing staff for their care.

Funeral services will be held at 4 PM on Friday at Love Funeral Home. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Friday from 2 until 4. Clyde will be laid to rest in West Hill Cemetery.
