On a glorious spring afternoon, April 22, 2026, a loving husband, devoted father, and extraordinary Papa triumphantly entered his eternal joy.
Bob (Bobby) Anderson, age 79, was born on December 22, 1946, at Hamilton Memorial to Paul and Sue Anderson. He grew up in the Pine Hill community of Dalton. His early education began at Morris Street School and Fort Hill School, and he later attended his beloved Dalton High School, where he played for Coach Bill Chappell’s Catamounts.
Bob remained deeply connected to his classmates, faithfully attending class reunions and enjoying the monthly third-Thursday luncheons with his Dalton High School Class of 1965 friends—something he considered a highlight of each month.
He was a graduate of Brenau University, earning a degree in business management. Bob built a long and successful career in the artificial turf industry, working for over 40 years. In 2007, he extended his career internationally with Taishan Artificial Turf in China. After spending 13 months there, he returned home to enjoy full-time retirement with his family.
A man of strong faith, Bob was an active member of Central Church of Christ. He lived by the motto: “God first, family second, and self last.”
Bob loved his family deeply. He was married to the love of his life, Minnie, for 51 wonderful years. Many admired how he held her hand wherever they went. When asked about it, he would say, “We started when we were dating, and I saw no need to stop.” That was Bob.
He was tremendously proud of his three sons and made it his mission to be present for their lives. Whether it was ballgames, hunting trips, or weekend fishing outings, Bob was always there. From T-ball through their senior year of high school, he never missed a chance to cheer them on. He was truly the best Papa any child could ask for.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Minnie Stanley Anderson; his three sons, Andy (Jennifer), Adam (Kellie), and Rob (Lori); and his four grandchildren, Will Anderson, Ashlyn Anderson, Lily Anderson, and Lucas Anderson. He is also survived by Marty Booth, who was like a brother to him, as well as numerous cousins.
Services will be held on Sunday, April 26, 2026 at Central Church of Christ. The family will receive friends at 2:00 p.m., followed by funeral services at 4:00 p.m. Minister Shane Robinson will officiate. Nephews will serve as pallbearers, and honorary pallbearers will be members of the Dalton High School Class of 1965.
The family extends special appreciation to Cynthia Jones and Heartlite Hospice for their compassionate care during this time of need.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a Foundation for Advanced Parkinsons Research or to Central Church of Christ Youth Group.
