Bill Gene Johnson

Bill G. Johnson, 89, of Dalton passed away on Monday, August 22, 2022.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sell and Virginia Johnson; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Harvey and Nellie Giles; granddaughter, Jerrica Jade Mathis.

Mr. Johnson was a U.S. Army Paratrooper serving from 1951 until 1954. He was known by many in the carpet industry and was an avid golfer, making several holes-in-one. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather that will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife, Geneva Giles Johnson; daughters and sons-in-law, Pam and Jeff Parker and Pat and Jerry Mathis; grandchildren, Grant and Lynsey Parker, Megan and Jeremy Talley, and Jake and Kaleigh Mathis; great-grandchildren, Kade and Lexi Parker, Stone and Copper Hobbs, and Landen Talley.

A memorial service will be held at 1 PM on Thursday, August 25, 2022, in the chapel of Love Funeral Home. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11 AM until 1 PM. Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to one’s favorite charity.
