Billie Darley Babb

Billie Darley Babb passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Saturday, September 12th, 2026. Billie was preceded in death by her loving husband of 70 years, Bob Babb, her parents, Doshie Davis Darley and Sidney Oscar Darley, her six brothers and 2 sisters: John, CT, Pierce, Preston, Pauline, Lucille, Sidney and Arthur.

Billie is survived by her 3 children and their spouses: Kathy Donaldson (Bob), Craig Babb (Connie) and Kent Babb (Sonya); grandchildren: Zachary Babb, Casey Babb Stanley (Shane), Amy Blankenship (Clint), Kenli Babb (fiancé, Kyle Postell), Shane Babb (Cynthia), nieces, nephews and great-grandchildren

Billie and her husband, Bob, along with son, Craig operated Babb’s Auto Service for more than 50 years.

Billie was an active and generous participant in her community, church and extended family. She especially loved showing hospitality, often welcoming her pastor for Sunday lunch after his sermons and bringing out her fine china and crystal not to impress, but simply to make an ordinary meal feel special. She opened her home and hosted many family events, and countless showers for family and friends.

Most memorable among her attributes was her contagious smile, which remained with her all the way to the end. She leaves behind a legacy of grace, generosity, faith, and love that will live on in all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Visitation for friends and family will be held on Monday, September 14th at Love Funeral Home from 11:00-2:00, with service in the Chapel at 2:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that a donation be made to Dug Gap Cemetery Fund, in care of Craig Babb at 2110 Vinewood Drive Dalton, GA 30720.
