Anne Jones Sims of Rocky Face, Georgia died on March 25, 2026.

She was born on January 5, 1932, in Dalton, Georgia the daughter of the late Clark Wortley Jones and Elisabeth Lipham Jones. Before moving with her family to Cartersville in 1965, she graduated from Dalton High School and then Agnes Scott College. She continued to do post graduate Divinity studies.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Warren McBryde Sims, Jr; her son, John Clark Sims; daughter-in-law, Michele Norman Sims; siblings, Clark (Bucky) Wortley Jones and Ellen Jones Tenney.

Anne is survived by her children, Mary Ellen Gurley, Beau Sims (Rhoda), Lee Stewart Sims, and Robert Sims (Cindy). Surviving their “Granne” are 6 grandchildren, Anne Rouse Gurley (Andy), John Dozier Gurley (Melody), Vivian LeGare Sims, Jarvis Lee Sims, Erin Michele Sims, and Elise McBryde Sims; great-granddaughter, Amelia Gurley. Anne is also survived by her beloved caregiver, Lucretia Gonthier of the Lighthouse.

Graveside services will be held at 10 AM on Saturday at Oak Hill Cemetery in Cartersville, GA. A reception will follow at 11 AM at First Presbyterian Church of Cartersville.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to one’s favorite charity.
