Pearl Elrod, age 74, of Dalton, GA., died early Saturday morning, July 10, 2010 at the Osprey Ridge Health Care Center, Carbondale, PA. She was the wife of the late Wade W. Elrod, who died in 1993.
Born September 20, 1935 in Carbondale, PA., she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Stella (Navalaney) Rusek and was preceded in death by one sister, Carol Ann Belcher.
She was an assembly line worker at the Howmett Corporation in Dover, NJ. for 15 years. She was a member of the Dalton Baptist Church, Dalton, GA. and also taught Bible School. She was an avid bingo player and enjoyed cooking, baking, knitting, crocheting and canning.
She is survived by one daughter: Jodi Turko of Wilson, PA.; one son: Michael Turko, Sr. and wife Darlyne of Pen Argyl, PA.; two step daughters: Nita Moss of Florence, AL. and Rita Martin of Tuscumbia, AL.; three sisters: Dolores Mascara of Rochester, NY., Dorothy Trotta of Greenfield Township PA. and Mary Ann Miller of Lenoxville, PA.; three brothers: Joseph Rusek of Carbondale, PA., Gerald Rusek of Greenfield Township, PA. and Thomas Rusek of Lenoxville, PA.; two grandsons: Michael, Jr., and Matthew Turko, both of Pen Argyl, PA.; two granddaughters: Michelle and Marlee Turko, both of Pen Argyl, PA.; one great granddaughter: Makenzee Turko of Bangor, PA.; one step granddaughter: Laura Harrell; one step grandson: Nathan Harrell; several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be Friday at 11 A.M. at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Copperhill, Tennessee.
