Nathan Gaddy

d. November 17, 2017

Nathan Randall Gaddy, our beloved son, father and husband, passed away November 17, 2017 at the age of 41 after a long courageous battle with Colorectal Cancer. He fought every day in his battle against this horrible disease. He never let this episode in his life get him down. He was active up until the time of his death. He never gave up. He had many adventurous activities he enjoyed in his lifetime. He spent quality time with his family canoeing, rafting and trout fishing. The Nantahala River was his favorite. Nathan and his son Laska participated in The Southern Off Road Championship Series (SORCS) for many years. They would spend their weekends camping and going dirt bike racing. Sebre was right there with them. Nathan and his family lived on our family farm. He and Sebre were avid horse people, when Laska was a little boy. Nathan and Sebre loved participating in team penning competition. Nathan was very proud to be a member to The Boy Scouts of America. He achieved the rank of Eagle Scout with two eagle palms. He attended The Boy Scout National Jamboree twice and Philmont Scout Ranch in Cimarron, New Mexico three times. Nathan’s scout master, Jack Rowland, had a profound influence on his life. When presented a task to complete, Nathan would ask the question “how would Mr. Rowland do it.” Nathan attended Dalton High School, The University of Tennessee in Knoxville and Dalton College. He was a very important part of the success of our family carpet business, Harbor Carpet Mills. He later worked for TVA and Southeastern Freight Lines. Our beloved Nathan is survived by his wife Sebre and son and best friend Laska.; parents, David and Linda Gaddy of Chattanooga, TN; brother, John David Gaddy (Jennifer) of Chattanooga; sister, Bryn Adamson (Chris) of Athens, GA; grandmother Jean Blaylock of Chatsworth. He also leaves a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. The family will receive fiends at Love Funeral Home on Sunday from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. Memorials may be made to one’s favorite charity. Words of comfort may be sent to the family at www.lovefuneralhomega.com. LOVE FUNERAL HOME, 706-278-3313.
