Gordon "Monroe" Jones

Mr. Gordon “Monroe” Jones, 76, of Dalton passed away Monday, March 20, 2017. Gordon was an avid race car driver and fan and was known by his friendly smile. He is preceded in death by his parents Paul and Alma Jones, Christine Jones; step-daughter, Cathy Lovain; brother, Jack Jones and sister, Helen Jones. Survivors include his sisters, Brenda Cooper of Dalton and Thera Philips of Charlotte NC; daughters, Michelle Holloway of Ellijay, Sonji (Chris) Romine of Jasper GA. and step-daughters, Ann (Gerald) Hammontree of Tunnel Hill, Karen (Ken) Boring of Naples FL, Celia (Lavon) Headrick of Chatsworth, and Carlis Tenney of Chatsworth; grandchildren include Jade Stancil, Sydney Romine, Camille Holloway, Seth Romine and Cody Holloway. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Love Funeral Home with Pastor Chris Romine officiating. Burial will be in Salem Baptist Church Cemetery in Jasper, Georgia.
