Jeannette Longley

Mrs. Jeannette Smith Longley, 84, of Dalton, passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2015.

She was the daughter of the late, Lawrence and Annie Mills Smith and was preceded in death by her husband, Julian Longley, Jr and a son Frank Lloyd Longley.

Jeannette was an owner and breeder of Straight Arabian Horses. She was a native of Dalton, and loved traveling, fine art and playing Bridge. She was active in her community, with the Creative Art Guild the Jr. Women’s Club and working within the Republican Party. Jeannette’s friend’s considered her a “True Southern Belle.”

She is survived by her daughter, Catherine L. Cash of Chattahoochee, FL; son, G. Lane Longley of Tampa, FL; grandchildren, West Cash, Arielle Longley and Drew Longley.

A memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 901 W Emery St, Dalton, GA 30720.

The family will receive friends in the Church Parrish Hall immediately following the service.
