Ivan Strain

Mrs. Ivan O. Roach Strain, 96, of Dalton passed away Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at her residence.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Willard E. Strain in 2009; son, Alan Strain in 1985; sisters, Vinnie Roach, Flossie Orr, Estelle Helton, Olera Wade, Laura Burns and Louie Thomason; brothers, Burns Roach, Irvine Roach and H.G. Roach.
Ivan was a member of the First United Methodist Church; she was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Lester and Nancy Strain of Dalton; daughter-in-law, Teresa Boozer of Dalton; grandchildren, Kimberly Strain Mills and Michael A. Mills of Marietta, Criss and Kate Strain of Savannah, Leslie Strain Wilson and Richard of Atlanta, Alan Craig Strain and Stephanie of Dalton and Barry Strain of Atlanta; 8 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11 A.M. at First United Methodist Church of Dalton with Dr. Robin Lindsey and Rev. Robert Thomason officiating.
Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends in the atrium of the church on Tuesday from 10 to
11 A.M.
The family ask that flowers please be omitted and memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church of Dalton, 500 S. Thornton Ave., Dalton, Ga. 30720 or to one’s favorite charity.
