Dorothy Dickson

Dorothy Dickson of Marietta and Dalton, Ga., formerly of Atlanta passed away Thursday, January 17, 2013.
She was born in Murray County and graduated from the old Eton High School. She worked for the Health Department in Murray County prior to her move to Virginia Beach, VA. and then to Atlanta in the 1950’s. She worked for Dr. Lewis Ray, DDS and then for Scott Foresman Publishing Company. She traveled extensively and lived independently until June of 2012 when she moved to Morningside of Dalton.
She was preceded in death by her parents Oliver William Dickson and Rowena Maude Tyler Dickson and her sister, Mildred Dickson.
Dorothy is survived by her brother, James Hyden Dickson and his wife, Lora Rogers Dickson of Dalton; a niece, Linda Dickson Hansen of Marietta; a nephew, W. Franklin Dickson (April) of Dalton; two great-nephews, Broadrick James (BJ) Dickson and Patrick Vaughn Dickson (Stacia) and two great-great-nephews, Jager Brandt Dickson and Ryder James Dickson all of Dalton.
Private services will be held.
Burial will be in Chatsworth Heights Cemetery.
