Kay F. Staten

Mrs. Kay Frances Wood Staten, 78, of Dalton, passed away Wednesday January 9, 2013.
She was the daughter of the late Arie Andrew and Julia Hope Wood and was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years Sherman Steed Staten and a son, Steedie Staten.
Kay worked as the Whitfield County Board of Elections Chief Registrar for 33 years.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Penny Staten; sister, Wanda Copland and sister-in-law, Lucy Staten all of Dalton; special nieces, Carol Byers and Vickie Nesbitt Swinney both of Dalton and Anna Nesbitt Manis of Kennesaw; special nephew, Billy James Swinney of Dalton; great-niece, Amanda Gail Swinney of Dalton; great-nephews, John Michael Swinney of Dalton and Michael Andrew Manis of Kennesaw; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Swinney officiating. Burial will follow in West Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Love funeral Home Friday from 5 to 9 P.M.
