Hyland "Mack" Corbin

Hyland McLaren (Mack) Corbin (69) of Dalton passed away Monday, April 9, 2012 at Hamilton Medical Center.
Surviving family members include his wife Jean Fendley-Corbin; daughters and sons-in-law: Scotti and Todd Haney, Panama City, Florida; Nancy and Tim Sullivan, Atlanta; grandchildren: Sallie, Gavin, and Corbin Haney and Jack and Kate Sullivan; step daughter Sheryl Fendley, Marietta; and stepson and wife Chris and Amy Fendley and Piper and Pearson Fendley, Kennesaw; half sisters Susan D’Alessandris and Valerie Farris of New Jersey.
A lifelong Yellow Jacket fan, Mack attended Georgia Tech and graduated from Augusta College. He was a chemist and an avid golfer. He was presently employed with Dye Systems of Dalton as a consultant.
An Honorary Life Member of the Dalton Elks Lodge 1267, Mack was an active Elk for over 45 years. He served as Past Exalted Ruler, Past State President, and Member of the Grand Lodge. Mack considered his fellow Elks from all over Georgia family members and they were a big part of his life. He passionately worked on behalf of Elks’ Aidmore Childrens Center in Conyers, GA. where he served on the Board of Directors. Mack was a Mason having completed both the Scottish and York rites.
Family will receive visitors from 11:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Love Funeral Home at 1402 N. Thornton Ave.
Funeral services will be at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church on Emery Street at 2:00 p.m. with The Reverend Patricia Grace officiating.
Interment will be at Whitfield Memorial Gardens with an Elks Graveside Ritual.
A wake will be held at the Dalton Elks Lodge Post 1267 on Elks Drive following interment.
