William Ames

Mr. William Ames passed away at his home in Dalton February 3, 2011. He was born in Rockport, Maine where he completed high school. He was a student of music and served as a church organist in his home town.
He came to Dalton from Oklahoma seeking employment in food service. He has worked for Schlotzsky's Deli on Walnut Avenue in Dalton since it opened. His family were his friends and co-workers where most simply knew him as "Bill." During his 17 years in Dalton he never owned a car and walked daily to work waving to passers-by.
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 14 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of First Presbyterian Church, 510 South Tibbs Road, Dalton.
