Rev. Wilburn Thomas, of Dalton, passed away Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at his residence. He was preceded in death by his wife Carol Thomas in 2002; brothers, Billy Marshal Thomas and Joseph Lamar Thomas. Wilburn is survived by his niece, Marsha Hackney of Ellijay and his nephew, Billy Thomas Jr. of Dalton; great nieces and nephews; great-great nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 P.M. in the chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Rev. Ricky Spence and Dewey Hughes officiating. Burial will follow in United Memorial Gardens with Rev. Bob Bagley, Caylor Hackney, Rev. L.J. Kitrell, Eric Smithey, Richard Thomas and Rev. Darey Kittle serving as pallbearers.
